The mission of The Carolina Gold Rice Foundation. Is to advance the sustainable restoration and preservation of Carolina Gold Rice and other heirloom grains and raise public awareness of the importance of historic ricelands and heirloom agriculture. The Foundation encourages, supports and promotes educational and research activities. The Foundation is linked with the Asia Rice Foundation and will partner with that foundation and others worldwide. Why We Do What We Do.
The Central Savannah River Area Environmental Science Education Cooperative is comprised of federal, state, and private governmental agencies, businesses, and non-profits who are committed to environmental education. These member organizations volunteer their time and resources for outreach programs, teacher education efforts, and on-site education programs to further the mission of the CSRA-ESEC.

A Watson-Brown Foundation Historic Home. Watson purchased the house that he would christen Hickory Hill in 1900. Watson extensively renovated the home before occupying it in 1904. He added the impressive portico, numerous Greek revival elements, and extended the rear of the home. The side porches were added around 1912.
